Conditions of Participation

 


 

Choir Convention and Competition for university (College) students .

 

The only one basic condition of participating this competition is:

 

You must be a university (college) choir, and conducted by a student.

 

 

 

Date

 

Competition in categories: October 18th  2014        11:00-18:00

 

Competition for the Grand Prix: October 19th  2014    10:00-12:00

 

 

 

Venue

 

Competition: Izuminomori Hall (Izumisano City in Osaka prefecture)

 

Rehearsal Camp: Osaka Prefectural Youth Retreat (Kaizuka City in Osaka prefecture)

Conditions for Entry

 

  1. UniversityCollege Choir

  2. Competition Category:

    Category A: Choirs with a minimum of 6 and maximum of 29 singers

    Category B: Choirs with a minimum of 30 and maximum of 60 singers

    Conductor and accompanist are not included  as choir members

  3. Conductor of the choir should be a university (College) student, including students of master and doctor course

 

 

 

Performance time

 

Competition in categories

 

There is no limit to the number of pieces to be performed, but total performance time including intervals between pieces must be within 10 minutes.

 

 

 

Competitions for the Grand Prix

 

You are requested to sing different songs from the competition in categories, but you can sing 1piece from the pieces sang in competition in categories.

 

There is no limit to the number of pieces to be performed, but total performance time including intervals between pieces must be within 15 minutes.

 

 

 

Compulsory Piece:

 

The new choir piece composed by Hideki Chihara. (about 2 pages)

 

The Compulsory Piece will be sent 1 month in advance.

 

 

 

Accompaniment

 

Only a piano (442Hz) is prepared at the Izuminomori Hall

 

In case you would like to use other instruments, prepare by yourself and it is necessary to get permission from the competition committee

 

 

 

Judging Method

 

Voting by the Juries

 

 

 

Participation fee

 

50USD / 1 person

 

Participation fee includes:

 

accommodation 1 night

 

3 meals

 

 entry fee for the Competition

 

 ticket fee for the Competition

 

 Cost of the bus transportation between Rehearsal Camp (Osaka Prefectural Youth Retreat) and Competition Hall (Izuminomori Hall)
